Raft: How To Make A Battery

In the mid to late game, Battery will be the material that powers devices in Raft.

Utensils are crucial for players' sustenance in Raft. At first, mechanisms like Simple Grill and Purifier will require Planks to work in Raft. However, later on, rafters should switch to more advanced pieces of machinery. This will reduce the Plank consumption on the raft but in exchange for other power sources.

For example, the second tier of water purifiers uses sunlight as their fuel (although the device will work even at night). Meanwhile, the third tier of grill demands electricity to function. To get electric devices to work in Raft, players will need to make a Battery.

To build the Battery in Raft, players have to go through a couple of simple steps. First, dive underwater and search for Copper. They’re usually found next to islands. Players can find Copper undersea on walls and big rocks. When acquired, place the Copper inside the Smelter, and it will produce a Copper Ingot. Research it at the Research Table, and it will unlock the Battery.

Each battery can be crafted from players' inventory and needs one Copper Ingot, three Scraps, and six Plastics that are usually laying all over the Raft.

Once rafters reached Varuna Point in the third chapter, they'll be able to learn how to make an Advanced Battery. This version has a three times larger capacity than a normal Battery, which will save a lot of chores on the raft. To make an Advanced Battery, players have to collect two Copper Ingots, two Scraps, and four Titanium Ingots.

Here is the list of machines that need a Battery to function:

While it’s easy to be built, Battery is incredibly demanding inside the raft since it runs out of juices quickly, and many machines can’t operate without it. However, do not throw away the empty Batteries, as later on, players will be able to build a Battery Charger to charge a Battery using Biofuel.

Additionally, At a certain point in Raft, players will be able to build Head Lights or Metal Detectors. They both require a Battery as one of the materials to craft them. Use an empty Battery instead of wasting a fully charged one; both fully charged and empty Batteries have the same durability and outcome.

Raft is available on PC.
